What types of therapy do you offer at Trevor’s Place?

We offer ABA therapy, Occupational therapy and Speech therapy.

What is the age range for your services?

Our services are available to children, with specialized programs to support developmental milestones at every stage. Ages Birth-21.

How do I know if my child needs therapy?

If you’ve noticed challenges with your child’s communication, motor skills, or social interaction, therapy can be beneficial. We encourage you to schedule an appointment with one of our specialists to assess your child’s needs.

What makes Trevor’s Place different from other therapy providers?

At Trevor’s Place, we focus on personalized care, using evidence-based strategies to ensure every child receives the best possible care. Our therapists are highly trained and experienced in working with children with unique needs, and we aim to empower families to be active participants in their child’s growth.

Therapy-Specific Questions

What is ABA therapy and how does it help my child?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy uses structured techniques to teach children new skills and reduce challenging behaviors. It is a well-researched, effective method that focuses on reinforcing positive behavior and helping children build essential life skills.

How can occupational therapy help my child?

Occupational therapy helps children develop the skills they need for everyday tasks, such as dressing, eating, and socializing. It can also improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, and coordination.

What is speech therapy and how does it benefit my child?

Speech therapy addresses communication challenges, helping children improve their ability to understand and express themselves through language, gestures, and social interaction.

What is the set up for your services?

We provide 1-1 Direct services In-Clinic or In-Home. When needed, we can participate in select services In-School. 

Who is working with my child?

All therapists are Credentialed or Licensed professionals operating under their specific boards. 

Process & Scheduling

How do I get started with therapy?

To begin, we recommend scheduling an initial assessment, where we will discuss your child’s needs and goals. From there, we will create a tailored therapy plan.

Do I need a referral from a doctor to start therapy?

A referral is not always required, but depending on your insurance plan, a doctor’s referral may be needed. Feel free to contact us for more details, and we can help guide you through the process.

How often will my child need therapy?

Therapy frequency depends on your child’s individual needs. Typically, children may have sessions several times a week, but we will create a schedule that works best for your child’s goals and family routine.

Can you assist with transportation to and from therapy services?

At this time, we are unable to assist with transportation. Please reach out if this is a need and prevents your accessibility to services. 

Insurance & Payment

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we accept a variety of insurance plans. Please contact us to verify your insurance coverage or to get assistance navigating your options.

What if I don’t have insurance or my insurance doesn’t cover therapy?

We offer flexible payment options and can discuss sliding scale fees or other financial assistance programs to make therapy more accessible.

What is the cost of therapy?

The cost varies depending on the type of therapy and frequency of sessions. We encourage you to contact us directly for detailed pricing or to schedule an initial consultation to discuss your child’s specific needs.

Progress & Communication

 

How do I know if my child is making progress in therapy?

Progress is regularly monitored through evaluations and assessments. We provide frequent updates to parents, including goal tracking and feedback on your child’s development.

Can I be involved in my child’s therapy?

Yes! We encourage family involvement and can provide you with tools and strategies to practice at home. We also offer guidance on how to support your child’s progress outside of therapy sessions.

Will my child’s therapist communicate with their school or other providers?

Yes, we can collaborate with your child’s school or other healthcare providers (with your consent) to ensure a holistic approach to their development.

Do you offer virtual therapy options?

No, we do not currently offer telehealth services.

What happens if my child is sick or can’t attend a scheduled session?

If your child is unable to attend a session due to illness or other reasons, please contact us in advance to reschedule.
